Summary

The opportunity involves the design and assembly of lithium-ion battery systems specifically tailored for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. The contractor will be responsible for creating battery pack designs that meet energy requirements of 100, 200, and 500 kWh, utilizing two different battery chemistries: NMC811-Graphite and LFP-Graphite. This project aims to estimate the costs associated with assembling these battery packs from purchased cells, with a production capacity of 25,000 vehicles per year. Businesses with expertise in battery technology, particularly in lithium-ion systems, and experience in automotive applications are encouraged to bid on this solicitation.
Description

The objective of this requirement is for a study to design lithium-ion battery packs for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles and to estimate the cost of assembling the packs from purchased cells. The data and analysis will be used to model the cell-to-pack and cell-to-system costs for NMC811-Graphite
