Summary

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from vendors capable of providing two types of elemental analyzers: one for the determination of carbon and sulfur, and another for the determination of oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen in alloys. This opportunity is part of NIST's efforts to support sustainable metals processing by accurately measuring impurities in recycled metals. The analyzers must meet specific technical requirements outlined in a draft statement of requirements, which includes precision measurements and operational capabilities. This sources sought notice is not a request for proposals but aims to identify potential contractors who can fulfill these needs. Businesses with expertise in manufacturing and supplying advanced analytical equipment, particularly those familiar with the materials science sector, are encouraged to respond.
Description

The contractor shall provide one (1) analyzer for the determination of carbon and sulfur and one (1) analyzer for the determination of oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen in accordance with the attached Statement of Requirements.
